Care4You4Others
Resilience training for the new generation of caregivers
The requirements of the labour market for caregivers are getting increasingly difficult. The main objective of the Care4You4Others project therefor is to help existing and future caregivers to better cope with psychological stresses of everyday caregiving and to make them aware that self-care is important in order to stay healthy and be able to practice their job and every day lives without health problems.
ā
This is to be achieved through the provision of a resilience training course especially tailored to the needs of caregivers. They receive free, low-threshold training that:
-
enables them to better deal with difficult situations in everyday life
-
shows them how important their own mental health is for their daily work
-
help them meet the changing labour market needs in care
-
provides them with simple tools that can be integrated into their everyday life and work
-
has a positive effect on their own skills

OUR TARGET GROUPS
ā
The primary target group for the results of this project are of course caregivers – either currently participating in a training program or just started their career in the care sector, as well as experienced caregivers and of course informal caregivers - of all different kinds of professions that are related to care. Beside nurses, home carers or care assistants we also want to address social workers and family helpers with our program. We definitely do not want to limit the target group to the professional care staff, but also include informal caregivers, like people who take care of their family relatives at home, as well.
Another target group for the results are education providers, organizations and associations in the care sector that want to use and disseminate the results of the project for themselves. These could use and integrate the course including the One- Minute-Wonders in their own education and training programs and for their students and their employees.
ā
Last but not least also the broad variety of care receivers – old people, sick people, babies, children, adults, people with disabilities – and also the relatives of these care receivers are a target group of this project, as there is an indirect impact of this project also on this group of people. They are all highly dependent on caregivers, who can only take care the best way possible if they also take care of themselves.

WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
ā
During the project period the project team will work on three activities - a report, a curriculum and learning materials for an online training course and one-minute-wonder setcards.
Activity 1 - ANALYSIS AND REPORT
The first activity aims to clearly define what content and what topics should be elaborated in an online training course on the subject of resilience tailored to the needs of caregivers and future caregivers.
As a first step, an in-depth analysis of existing research and literature in the field of resilience will be conducted, to get an overview of the current opinion of experts and professionals in this field.
Based on this theoretical input a field research, including interviews with experts and a survey for care givers, will be conducted.
The results of the analysis and the field research will be summarized in an overall report.
ā
Activity 2 - CURRICULUM AND ONLINE TRAINING COURSE
On the basis of the findings of A1, a curriculum for the training course will be developed which will set out all the learning objectives of the training course in a competence-oriented way. Based on the curriculum, learning material will be developed for an online course in the all project partner’s languages and English.
All content (curriculum & learning material) will be freely accessible and available to download as a PDF via the website, the learning material will also be available on a learning management system as an online training course.
ā
Activity 3 - ONE-MINUTE-WONDER SETCARDS
As an additional tool for everyday resilience training, setcards with exercises and short explanations how these exercises can be implemented in the daily work, will be developed in A3. These setcards are called ONE MINUTE WONDERS as they should not take more than one minute to be implemented.
